When I got this drop in I had to find where my silver 2D maglite was (because I had stopped using it in favor of other brighter LED's) I hastily ripped off the head and threw in the Malkoff and turned it on.....Didn't seem very bright, actually I was filled with anger...sitting there I threw the old bulb back in the Mag tried to turn it on and nothing.....then I wised up and checked the batteries turns out not only were they dead, but they had expired over 2 years ago. So as you can guess with fresh batteries (and feeling like an idiot) I turned on the Malkoff and was blown away. What a wonderful product, and in subsuquent reviews I have wrote the following on Candle power fourms.
I will always choose the Malkoff for several reasons.
1. Quality, You won't find a better built Drop In with a great heatsink.
2.I really like knowing who built something it makes it personal. The guys name goes into the build.
3.In the time of corperate big buisiness I will gladly send my dollars to an individual US Citizen (not so say I dont love shurefire and fenix) Malkoff is a cottage industry and a CPF'er. Last time I ordered from Gene I ended up on the phone with him for nearly an hour. It feels like I'm buying from a friend.
4. Malkoff stands behind his work plain and simple and He makes a valiant effort to make You 100% satisfied.
5. Run times are much better than expected. (Malkoff is humble)
